Our Team
Steve was born and raised in Dickinson and has been employed with the firm since his senior year in high school. Steve took over ownership of the firm in 2004.
Steve received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in 1998 from Dickinson State University. He received his CPA in 2002. Steve's emphasis is on personal and small business accounts. He provides a wide range of consulting, planning, accounting, and tax preparation services.
Jason graduated from Dickinson State University with Bachelor of Science degrees in accounting and business administration. He received his CPA shortly after college and has been working in public accounting since 2001. In 2008, he bacame partner and the firm's name was changed to Hoerner Rodakowski PC. Jason provides tax, accounting, attest, quickbooks support and compliance services for all entity types.
Gene graduated from the University of North Dakota. Gene has over 30 years in public accounting experience.
Dana earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Dakota before earning an MBA. In addition to being a Certified Pubic Accountant, he is also a Certified Fraud Examiner.
Dana provides tax planning and compliance services for individuals, businesses, estates, nonprofit organizations, and trusts. He also performs attest engagements including audits and reviews.
I have definitely seen many changes within the accounting and tax preparation arena since starting this practice May 1, 1965.

Jan was raised on a ranch near Glendive, MT, received a teaching degree from Dickinson State in 1962 and lived in Iowa and New Town, ND, before returning to Dickinson in 1969. While raising her family, she substitute taught and worked at several other jobs before joining the firm in 1982. She qualified as an Enrolled Agent in 1987. In addition to providing tax preparation services, Jan is also a QuickBooks advisor.
Kelly graduated from Dickinson State University with Bachelor of Science degrees in accounting and business administration. She has been working in public accounting since 2006. She is currently studying for the CPA exam.
Laura joined the firm in September 2009, after completing an internship with KPMG in Anchorage, Alaska. She graduated from Dickinson State University with Bachelor of Science degrees in accounting and business administration. In the future she would like to become a CPA. Laura looks forward to gaining the experience necessary to provide a wide range of services to our clients.
Janna joined the firm in September 2010. She began her career in 2005 after graduating from Dickinson State University with a degree in accounting. Janna looks forward to working in public accounting and plans to become an enrolled agent, expanding her qualifications for tax preparation and allowing her to represent clients in matters dealing with the IRS.
Anna started with the firm as an office manager in February of 2001. She graduated with an associates degree in business management. Anna's experience includes payroll, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, and internal technical support.
John is a full time bookkeeper and data entry employee. John also provides internal computer maintenance and support. John has been employed with the firm since 2008.
